As you know, The George III books a featured artist to perform some songs for you during the open mic sessions held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.

This month The George is featuring a new band called “Lost Cause” – a five piece covers band consisting of a lead singer, lead guitarist, rhythm guitar/backing vocals, a drummer and bassist. They’ll be performing two twenty minute slots during the evening.

The Format

The evening starts at 8.15pm. If you want to perform, contact Neville at The George III to guarantee a “guest” spot, (that’s two or three songs, or ten minutes usually – with crystal clear sound on stage), or simply turn up on the night and take your chances. The earlier that you are there, the more likely it is that you’ll get to perform.

Who knows? It’s January. After Christmas and new year, January is notorious for everywhere “being quiet”. This means our guests might be able to perform for longer! Stick around for the jam at the end of the evening.

More information about the new band

They are recently formed Hoddesdon band and plan to gig soon. Steve Banting (bassist) and Ben Marques (rhythm guitar) started the band off. Drew the singer, and, Stu, the drummer joined next followed by lead guitarist – Richard. They’re a solid crew and between them, they have 20 years of gigging experience.

Our age range is quite wide with Ben being early 20’s and me sneaking up on the 3 score mark! due to this, our musical tastes are varied as you might have guessed, but we all seem to be rockers! – Steve Banting

This is the band’s debut appearance, so come along and support them. Lost Cause kicks off the evening at 8.15pm performing songs from the list below.

  • Blitzkrieg Bop
  • Everyday I love you less and less
  • Mollys chambers
